Just before 3 a.m., Western Connecticut 911 center started receiving calls for a tractor-trailer fire on westbound I-84 between exits 5 and 6.
Fire units were dispatched to the highway and upon arrival found a fully involved trailer which was loaded with paper goods, according to James Gagliardo, public information officer for the Danbury Fire Department.
The driver was able to disconnect the trailer from the tractor prior to arrival.
